Traditional Printing
Cibachrome printing
Cibachrome (Ilfochrome Classic) is the only remaining material available for conventional photographic printing direct from transparency.
The polyester base gives a mirror like gloss finish and the unique dye structure gives the material unrivalled archival qualities.
Black and White (from Negatives)
Black and white hand printing is produced on Ilford multigrade RC paper and is available in gloss or pearl surface. Our technicians will optimise the contrast grade to suit your original or you can specify soft or high contrast.

Photech traditional print services will be changing late in 2010
2010 is a transitional year for our traditional enlarging and Cibachrome printing services. Due to the inevitable gradual decline in demand for cibachrome printing from slide and transparency, we have decided to cease production late in 2010. Cibachrome prints will still be available up until this point.
Of course, we would not stop this service without having an viable alternative to the traditional enlargement and cibachrome printing process.
A top quality reproduction scan will be taken from your transparency on one of our high end Imacon scanners. The image will then be optimised and printed onto Fujiflex, a superb high gloss photographic material with the same polyester base as cibachrome. We will be offering prints using our ZBE Chromira printer. This is a state of the art photographic printing machine using patented L.E.D. technology to expose the image onto photographic material.
The end result is a jaw-dropping photographic print, as good, if not better than a cibachrome print – we are so confident you will be impressed with the results, if you don’t agree it’s a match for cibachrome prints, we will give you your money back.
The ZBE Chromira
Chromira photographs are ‘C prints’, a term often used in contemporary photography galleries. The Chromira Digital Photographic Enlarger exposes to photographic paper. Unlike inkjet output, there are no inks used that can smudge or fade and there is no “dot pattern” as in other contemporary photography methods, giving an unparalleled quality of prints.
